Dave Ramsey’s Questions to Ask a Real Estate Agent
As you’re starting the process to search for your Realtor, the Dave Team suggests that you ask questions to each agent as you interview them. Therefore, I thought it would be easier for me to go ahead and answer these questions for you to put us a step forward in this process. I want to thank you for this opportunity, and I look forward to serving you as your realtor.
Q: How long have you been a full-time real estate agent in my market?
A: I’ve been serving as a Realtor in East Alabama for over 10 years. This my full-time job. Full-time so much that it’s well over 40 hours a week. But it’s not only my job—it’s my passion. I love to serve others through real estate, and look forward to having that opportunity with you.
Q: How many homes do you close each year?
A: Each year, I set a goal on how many homes or transactions that I will have throughout the year. But, I also set a goal to make sure that I devote myself to provide an excellent amount of service to each client throughout that process. So, the amount of homes that I sell is not only important, but also the service that I will provide to you. Each year I have over 90 transactions, which allows me to be a top producer in East Alabama.
Q: Who will be my primary point of contact?
A: Throughout this process, I will always be your primary point of contact. I do have a team that helps me provide efficient, quick service to you, but I will always be your point of contact. If you have a question, I’m going to be the person that you speak with. If someone calls off a sign in your yard, I’m also going to be the person that you speak with. Know that it is important to me that everybody receives an exceptional amount of service. And therefore, I set the standard level by producing that service myself.
Q: What qualities or certifications set you apart from other agents?
A: For more information on my qualifications and credentials, you can visit my website: ryanrobertsrealtor.com.
Q: How will you help me sell and/or buy a home in a competitive market?
A: My experience in our market will help me set you above other buyers and sellers in our market as they go through the process. Doing this for over 10 years, there are lots of tactics and systems that I have in place to that can produce the outcome you are looking for to help meet your goals.
Q: Do I have to sign a contract, and can I cancel without penalty?
A: Yes, you will have to sign an exclusive right to represent agreement with me to serve you as your Realtor. This will help ensure that I can serve your best needs. But, I will serve you in the same way that I would expect to be served. So, at any time, if you feel that you are not getting the service that you are looking for or that I have committed to you, then you may cancel the agreement between the two of us.
Q: How will you communicate with me?
A: Communication is one of the most important aspects of a real estate experience. Communication is important, and expectations are different for everyone. I will communicate with you on many different levels. But the first step in discussing communication is discussing your expectations of how you would like to be communicated with and what I will also expect from you on a communications level. Everyone’s expectations are completely different as far as communications are concerned. Therefore, we will work together to develop a plan that will work to meet your needs.
Q: How do you set realistic expectations for your clients?
A: Realistic expectations are extremely important for both of us. These expectations are what are going to carry us through this process. Expectations for everyone are different—the same with communication. Therefore, I would need to know what your expectations are for me as your Realtor and then I will share with you what my expectations for you are as a client. Therefore, we will develop a plan how we can work together to meet your goals.
Q: Who can I contact for a reference?
A: To contact any of my references or read reviews, please visit my website. To speak directly to some of my past clients, feel free to reach out to me via email, and I will be glad to connect you to some of my previous clients.
