There’s no better time to scare up family fun, frights and fall festivities than with these October 2023 events in Auburn and Opelika. 

Botanic’s Got Talent, Oct. 4, 11, 18 & 27

  • What: Make plans to support local talent during the 2nd Annual Botanic’s Got Talent. Contestants who make it through initial auditions will return to perform in Round One on Wed., Oct. 4th. Those who make it through all three Wednesday night rounds have the chance to win a $5,000 cash prize and a Friday night performance at the Botanic. The winner is voted on by the public during the Friday Finale on Oct. 27th.

Lee County Fair, Oct. 3-7

  • What: The Lee County Fair is back! The fun starts at 4 p.m. on Oct. 3rd and doesn’t stop until closing on Oct. 7th at 11 p.m. Don’t miss the fall fun with live music, the Miss Lee County Beauty Pageant, fair food, rides and much more!

Auburn Food & Wine Dinner at The Depot, Oct. 4

  • What: Support the Lee County Youth Development Center at this special benefit dinner. There will be a cocktail hour from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a four-course meal and wine pairings. Tickets are limited.

Sleepy Hollow Haunted Farm, Oct. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21 & 27-31

  • What: It will be a Friday the 13th to remember with a spooky double feature. Bring your blankets or chairs and money to buy tasty treats to enjoy during the movies at Kiesel Park.

Great Pumpkin Splash, Oct. 20

  • What: You don’t want to miss the Opelika SportsPlex pool’s floating pumpkin patch transformation! Pumpkins are in varying depths of the pool for children of all swim levels to participate. Pick a pumpkin out of the pool and then decorate it. Don’t forget to register by Oct. 13th.

9th Annual Fall Bash at the Red Clay Brewing Taproom, Oct. 20

  • What: Live music, cold beer, food trucks, raffle prizes and family fun ahead! This free event is open to kids and dogs too.

Beat Bama Run Fest – Color Run 5K and 1-mile, Oct. 22

  • What: Put your running shoes on for a good cause! The Beat Bama Run Fest is a Color Run benefiting the Food Bank of East Alabama. Do a one-mile fun run or a 5K race, and don’t forget to bring non-perishable goods to donate to the Food Bank as part of the Beat Bama Food Drive.

Fall Festival on the Square, Oct. 29

  • What: Presented by First Baptist Church of Opelika, there will be 5,000 pounds of candy, 26 inflatables, food trucks, prize drawings, fireworks and more treats than you can imagine!

Downtown Auburn Trick-or-Treat, Oct. 31 

  • What: Put on your costumes and come downtown for a “ghoulishly good time.” Get candy from local businesses and organizations. Listen to live music. Take scary-good photos in front of a balloon backdrop and more.
