A little birdie told us the all-new Pines Crossing Golf Course in Auburn is shooting for a fall debut! Formerly known as Indian Pines, the redesign and complete overhaul of the public golf course will position it as one of the top public courses in the Southeast.
About Pines Crossing Golf Course in Auburn
Pines Crossing Golf Course in Auburn will offer golfers a modern venue to improve their game. According to recent reports, the $5.7 million course transformation was spearheaded by Bergin Golf Designs, based in Atlanta.
The firm designed the new golf course in such a way that experienced golfers will find it challenging, but the average golfer will enjoy playing the course too. The golf course features 18 holes, each with six tee areas modified for different handicaps and skill levels.
Pines Crossing will also boast a new practice facility, a new short game facility, an expanded driving range and a new concrete cart path. More specifically, the contemporary short game practice facility includes two bunkers, a green and the potential for 75-yard short shots to help sharpen a player’s skills.
More about the project
Originally, another big project for the City of Auburn initiated the idea for a redesign at Indian Pines. In 2017, the airport actually acquired 11.6 acres of the golf course for a runway safety extension. The acquisition affected six holes on the course.
Hence, the idea for a whole new layout and facility upgrades was ignited. Now, a look at Pines Crossing’s Facebook page shows construction is wrapping up as sod has been laid and the greens are looking lush!
