Milo's Hamburgers in Auburn

You might be familiar with this burger chain’s signature sweet tea, which you can buy by the gallon in most grocery stores across the country. But soon Milo’s Hamburgers in Auburn will bring much more than sweet tea to The Plains and the surrounding area.

About Milo’s Hamburgers in Auburn

The Birmingham-based burger brand announced in early June that Milo’s Hamburgers in Auburn is under construction. More specifically, construction is underway at an upcoming retail shopping strip near the intersection of Shug Jordan Parkway and North Donahue Drive.

Milo’s Hamburgers in Auburn is aiming for a mid-to-late fall opening, sometime after the start of football season.

More about Milo’s

Established in 1946, Milo’s is known for burgers topped with their secret sauce, seasoned fries, their signature sweet tea and hand-spun milkshakes. Founder Milo Carlton learned to cook a good burger as a mess cook in the Army.

He decided to open his first burger shop in a humble cinder block building in the heart of Birmingham’s industrial northside. According to the website, it was during that first summer of 1946 that the “secret sauce” was perfected by listening to the loyal customers’ reactions.

So, Milo listened to tidbits of “too spicy,” “too tangy,” or “too sweet.” Eventually, he heard more “mmmmms,” and the rest is history. Today, Milo’s continues to listen to their loyal customers, which is why they continue to expand across Alabama.

The menu

More than the original saucy burger and seasoned crinkle fries, the Milo’s menu also has cheeseburgers, thick burgers, chicken tender sandwiches, chicken tenders, fresh slaw, loaded fries and fried pies. If you’ve never been to Milo’s (or you need a refresher), check out the menu here.
