Aubie was named third best mascot in the U.S.

War Eagle! The embodiment of the Auburn spirit, the one, the only, Aubie the Tiger, has done it again! Aubie was named third best mascot in the U.S. at the UCA College Nationals on January 13th-15th at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

Aubie makes the top three!

The winning streak continues since Aubie was named third best mascot in the U.S. at the recent national championships.

The University of Cincinnati’s The Cincy Bearcat took home the 2023 Division 1A mascot gold medal for the first time ever. The silver went to Smokey from the University of Tennessee, with Aubie bringing home the bronze!

Additional top-five winners included Bucky Badger from the University of Wisconsin and Goldy Gopher from the University of Minnesota. Thirty-one mascots competed in all.

Currently, Aubie remains a record-setting college mascot with the most number one titles of all. Aubie has won 10 national championships, including in 2021, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2006, 2003, 1999, 1996, 1995 and 1991.

Aubie was also named the 2014 Capital One Mascot of the Year. What’s more, Aubie was one of the first three mascots to be inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006.

Did you know Aubie made his first in-person appearance on the basketball court on February 28, 1979? That’s 44 years of Aubie bringing luck to the Auburn Tigers!
