Big news for local gamers! Auburn Parks and Rec recently announced the opening of a new eSports Room at Frank Brown Rec Center.
The details
The new eSports Room at Frank Brown Rec Center features three huge 82-inch big-screen TVs plus three different game consoles.
Now, you can work out, play basketball or racquet ball and then settle in for a different kind of competition! Guests can get comfy in the decked-out gaming room with friends for a fun cool down.
The hardest part might be deciding what to play first!
Choices include a Nintendo Switch with Nintendo Switch Online, Playstation 5 with a Playstation Now subscription or an Xbox Series X with a Game Pass subscription.
While the eSports Room is available for use by those who live, work or go to school in Auburn at no cost, an Auburn Parks and Rec membership is required. A membership is generally about $25.

A few rules
Before making plans to head to the new eSports Room, there are few important items to note. For one thing, children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Both the child and adult will need a valid membership.
Also, the games are teen ESRB restricted.
Location and Hours
The new eSports Room at Frank Brown Rec Center is located at 235 Opelika Road. Visitors can enjoy gaming Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday the eSports Room is open from 8 to 11 a.m. and Sunday hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. For more information about the room, please call (334) 501-2962.
