Send the frosty month of January off with a “hoo-ha” by accepting the cold, hard challenge presented by Auburn’s 9th Annual Polar Plunge. On January 30 at the City of Auburn’s Samford Pool, plungers will prove they are anything but frigid!
Good Fun for a Good Cause
Auburn’s 9th Annual Polar Plunge raises funds in support of the brave athletes of the Lee County Special Olympics. Each year, community members, groups, organizations, and businesses register a participant for the chance to find the most sponsors who believe they can take the plunge!
This family-friendly event starts at 9 a.m. However, to abide by social distancing guidelines, participants are asked to sign up for specific waves. Plungers are allowed in the pool area only during their wave. Masks are required prior to jumping in.
Polar Plunge with Passion
Everyone loves a good theme, and what could be more fitting than the “Best and Worst of 2020?” Show your personality and suit up in a way that represents what that means to you!
Auburn’s 9th Annual Polar Plunge is a community tradition that showcases exactly what it means to be a community. Don’t miss the chance to be a part of the Polar Plunge experience. Get creative and challenge workmates—nothing says friendly competition like an office pool! Or nominate your boss, your best friend, your spouse, your siblings—you get the idea.
A Few Final Details
The city’s pool is located behind East Samford School at 328 E. Samford Ave. This year, there will be an after party at Halftime. Plungers receive a discount and can warm up with a good meal. Added bonus—a portion of the proceeds go directly to the Lee County Special Olympics!
