Where did all that sunlight go? Now that daylight savings time has turned our clocks back an hour, many of us are in dire need of some Vitamin D. Fortunately, it looks like spring or summer 2021 will be bringing back some brightness to us all. Not only will the clock go forward, giving us an extra hour, but there’s a new Auburn park under construction: Dinius Park!
About the new park
Dinius Park is bringing the fun—13 acres of it, in fact. Did we mention that both people and their dogs will be welcome to visit? Phase one of this project is underway, too. Some of the things to do and see at the new park include:
- Dog parks, both for large and small pups;
- A pond; and
- 5 miles of walking trails.
There will also be a second phase! So, you can look forward to even more amazing additions on the horizon, like a pavilion, a grilling area, and a playground.
How did Dinius Park get its name?
We can all thank the Dinius family for helping the city make this new park possible! So, our town is sharing its appreciation for their generous gifts of monetary and land donations by giving their name to this exciting project.
Where will Dinius Park be located?
Dinius Park will be located at 1435 East Glenn Ave. That’s near the intersection of Glenn and East University Drive, near Duck Samford Stadium.
When will the new park be finished?
The new Auburn park under construction won’t take too long until it’s ready for visitors. Estimates say that Dinius Park should be open for the public no later than spring or summer of 2021. That’s only a few months away!

There’s no better place to unwind than the great outdoors. Next season, your jaunts outside are about to become even more relaxing, thanks to this new park option. We can’t wait to see what Dinius Park looks like when phase one is complete!
