One of the things we all miss the most this year is going out to see a movie, a play, or a concert. Though restrictions on public gatherings are still in place, taking in a show isn’t completely off the table. With the GPAC’s Virtual Alabama Artists Series, you can enjoy a spectacular performance right from your computer. In fact, there are two left on the schedule! If you want to add some great local music to your calendar, follow along to learn more about the awesome options.
October: John Paul White
Though October has come and gone, we bet you’re wondering about who first performed in the GPAC’s Virtual Alabama Artists Series on Oct. 29. The answer: John Paul White (if you couldn’t tell from the heading of this section)! He used to perform as part of The Civil Wars, a Grammy-winning folk group. Now, he’s once again pursuing a solo career.
November: Elley Duhé
The next performance in the Virtual Alabama Artists Series is in just a couple of days. “Happy Now” singer Elley Duhé will hit the (virtual) stage on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. This singer-songwriter is known for her pop music, with blends of electronica and ballad-style sounds.
December: Eric Essix
If you love jazz, this performance is perfect for you! Eric Essix has been making music for more than 30 years. His songs center around the South—Alabama and Birmingham in particular—and its culture over the years. See him on Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
