What are Lee County’s Opportunity Zones?
It’s time for a refresher! We’re all due for a little reminder about just what Opportunity Zones are! Americans across the country can benefit from having a local Opportunity Zone in their area.
In fact, towns that have room to grow economically can enjoy a little—or big—boost from the establishment of an Opportunity Zone. They operate with the help of government regulations and approval, specifically Congress’ Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
Plus, they help build up the local economy, bringing in new jobs to the area. Those jobs can mean construction, supplying, and all kinds of careers once the Opportunity Zone has been fully built.
Want the short answer? Opportunity Zones make it easy for private sector investments to form and grow, which will improve the local economy.
