Alabama’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday 2019 lasts from midnight on Friday, July 19 to midnight on Sunday, July 21. The sale is designed to make shopping for academic supplies easier and more affordable. It allows people to buy school supplies, tax free. That includes both local and state taxes!
Applicable Items
The sale includes several items necessary for the upcoming school year. During the tax holiday, you’ll receive tax free status on items like:
- Backpacks;
- Folders;
- Binders;
- Pencils;
- Pens;
- Crayons;
- Lunchboxes;
- Writing tablets;
- Jackets;
- Gym clothes;
- Shoes and sandals;
- Notebooks;
- School uniforms;
- Scissors;
- Computer printers and printer supplies;
- Pencil boxes;
- Index cards;
- Glue;
- Books, priced $30 and under;
- Reference maps;
