Each year on the Fourth of July, we remember the importance of our freedom—and those who protect it for us. One of the ways that we show our gratitude is gathering together and watching fireworks. Want to participate in this beloved tradition? Not sure where to go? Here’s where you can celebrate the holiday and watch Fourth of July fireworks in Auburn, Opelika and Lake Martin.

Opelika Freedom Celebration, July 3

  • What: Opelika Parks and Recreation has been hosting its Freedom Celebration for 67 years! The fireworks begin at dark, but there’s more to see and do. Whether you’re a new face or a returning fan, you can look forward to games, food, and inflatables. Add in music and fireworks, and you’re in for a great evening.

Auburn Independence Day Celebration, July 4

  • What: Celebrate your freedom at this exciting celebration. All you need to bring is your blanket and chairs. Before the fireworks, you can also enjoy live music, free games, free goodies, and lots of delicious food. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.
  • Where: Duck Samford Park, 1840 E. Glenn Ave.

Lake Martin: Fourth of July Blast Concert and Fireworks, July 4

  • What: With live performances and fun contests on the table, fireworks are just the cherry on top of this wonderful celebration. Attendees can join a hula hoop contest, listen to The Tyn Tymes and The Bank Walkers, and try out the Twist Contest. Then, at 9 p.m., it’s time for the fireworks! Tickets cost $10. Attendees can buy them here.
