2018 Opelika Christmas Parade, Dec. 1
- What: March into the holiday season with the Opelika Christmas Parade. This free event will give you and your family and friends a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.

23rd Annual Christmas Cookie Walk, Dec. 1
- What: Can you already taste the delicious holiday cookies in your future? For only $6 per pound, you and yours can help yourselves to an extensive collection of cookies. Afterward, don’t forget to pose for pictures with Santa himself!

Polar Express Holiday Event 2018, Dec. 1
- What: Take your family on a ride on the Polar Express. Inspired by the classic book and film, this event features the North Pole’s most famous residents: Santa and Mrs. Claus. Plus, enjoy delicious food and fun crafting activities. Now, you can buy tickets for $12 a person. Children aged 23 months and under may attend for free, provided that an adult ticket has also been bought.

Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour, Dec. 5-9
- What: Add a touch of history to your holidays with this free event. Enjoy driving tours from Dec. 5 through Dec. 9 or a walking tour on Dec. 8. If you want a look back in time, this event will take you to the Victorian age with its carolers and historic houses. Plus, you can view the tour through a wagon ride if you attend on Dec. 7.

Christmas in a Railroad Town, Dec. 7
- What: There’s nothing like Opelika in the winter! During this free event, you can even experience pony rides. Other fun activities include traditional fare like caroling, posing with the Claus family, and eating delicious food.

Jingle Jog 5K and Santa Stroll Fun Run, Dec. 8
- What: Worried about that winter weight gain? Want to help out others? At this event, you can do both. Whether you’re walking or running, get on your marks. Now through Dec. 6, registration costs $25. If you register on the day of the event, it will cost $30.

Holiday Movie at the Plex: The Santa Claus, Dec. 8
- What: Kick back and enjoy a holiday classic. Starring Tim Allen as the reluctant new Santa, this film has been a winter staple for years. Plus, the event is completely free, giving you an affordable—and enjoyable—way to celebrate.

Auburn Christmas Parade, Dec. 9
- What: Line the streets of downtown Auburn and look forward to marching bands, entertainment, Aubie and more!

- What: Take a tour through the holiday. With lights and actors performing along the way, you can experience an unforgettable free holiday event, culminating in a nativity.

Santa Claus on the Corner, Dec. 15 and 16
- What: It’s time to pay a visit to Santa Claus! At this free event, you can make memories and take pictures with jolly St. Nick. For those who wish to donate, the event is also raising money for The United Way.
