When summer rolls around, people tend to have a bit more time on their hands. Looking to add something enjoyable to your agenda this month? Here are some great ways to fill your days with these July 2018 events in Auburn and Opelika.

  • O Grows Farmers Market. Starting on July 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., this farmers market will offer delicious produce for you to purchase. It can be found at 1103 Glenn Street in Opelika. If you can’t come that day, don’t worry! It’ll be a fixture in the area every Tuesday.
  • Family Studio: Summertime Splash. The Jule Collins Art Museum will host a fun watercolor painting session for kids and families. It takes place on July 9 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Summer Swing. This Opelika-based option will please music lovers. Enjoy a concert in the Municipal Park at 6:15 p.m. on July 10. The band Martha’s Trouble will perform. Summer Swing also features free lemonade, delicious food, and even train rides.
  • Float-N-Movie. On the search for a fun summer activity? Time to enjoy The Last Crusade! Starring Harrison Ford as the iconic archeologist Indiana Jones, this film has been an audience favorite for decades. On July 12, you can also enjoy this great movie in a cool place: the Samford Pool in Auburn. Bring an inflatable float and relax on the water as Jones begins a new search! This is the Holy Grail of summer nights, so head over to this event, which starts at 8 p.m.
  • 9th Annual Day in Clay. On July 14, head over to Dean Road Recreation Center for an afternoon of art from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can check out the facility, enjoying food and drinks as you take in the possibilities. If you also reserve a spot, you can mold a creation of your own for $10, which will be fired in the kiln. All you have to do is make your project and pick it up at the end of the month. Plus, how cool will it be to feature your own useful art around the house?
  • Auburn Knights Reunion Concert. July 14 boasts another great event: the Auburn Knights Reunion Concert, put on by the Auburn Knights Orchestra and musical throwbacks from the 70’s/80’s Band and 90’s/2000’s Band. The variety in performances will help people with a wide array of musical preferences find something to enjoy. This concert lasts from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Marriott Grand National. Adult tickets are $10. Students can get in for half that price!
  • Kids Picasso Art Class. Pablo Picasso once said: It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” Let your kids explore the fun of his style at this class in the Jule Collins Museum. It begins at 11:30 am on July 17 through 20! Whether students want to make a collage or paint, they’ll create some lovely art.
  • Summer Showcase. Residents all across Auburn appreciate the exceptional nature of our friendly town. Featuring local businesses, this showcase reveals the incredible array of local businesses that the city boasts. On July 20, this event at the Auburn Mall runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. And yes, there will be food and entertainment! Sounds like a home-run!
  • Cheers on the Corner. For those 21 and older, this night-time event will provide a unique experience. Participants will traverse downtown Auburn, sampling foods at the designated stops. They will also have something cool to take home: free drinking glasses. Cheers on the Corner starts at 6 p.m. on July 20, ending at 10 p.m. Get tickets now!
  • Auburn Wing Fest. Towards the end of the month, our list of July 2018 events in Auburn and Opelika has more fun to offer! Located at Greystone Mansion, the Auburn Wing Fest lasts from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 28. Once you purchase your ticket, you can get started chowing down on wings. You even get six free wings with your ticket! Children under 10 can attend for no cost. Enjoy a variety of unique flavors as live music plays. Ever wanted to try an eating contest? One will take place at 4 p.m.
