Celebrate art in all its forms during Auburn’s SummerNight Downtown Art Walk 2018 on June 8! Starting at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., this free event in Downtown Auburn will feature local and regional artists and crafters, street performances, live musicians, and a variety of children’s activities and food options.
Kick off with a parade!
Start your art walk festivities at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts with a pre-parade party, including arts and crafts, face painting, music, and costuming! After the pre-parade, you can participate in the parade ending at Toomer’s Corner, officially kicking off Auburn’s SummerNight Downtown Art Walk 2018. Don’t forget to wear fun and creative outfits during the parade!
Transform Downtown Auburn!
Under the backdrop of Samford Hall, Downtown Auburn becomes an art and entertainment district during the SummerNight Downtown Art Walk. College Street between Thach Avenue and Tichenor Avenue will close to traffic, allowing vendors and entertainers to set up shop along the street. Many downtown shops and restaurants plan to stay open past their regular hours, so take advantage of the evening to dine, shop, and browse with your friends or family!
Additionally, the SummerNight Downtown Art Walk will hold a blueberry-themed culinary contest, where contestants have the chance to earn great prizes! Meanwhile, children can participate in various activities to keep them entertained throughout the night. Peruse the fantastic art of local and regional artists whose works will be on display.
Auburn’s SummerNight Downtown Art Walk is made possible by the efforts of the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanity, City of Auburn, Auburn Arts Association, and the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association—and, of course, the participation and talents of artists and entertainers for whom this art walk highlights!
Last year’s SummerNight Downtown Art Walk was a blast, so join Downtown Auburn this year on June 8 for more art and fun!
