Pastels and Peeps, egg hunts and rabbit ears are all signs of Easter on the horizon! Easter 2018 is Sunday, April 1, and communities around East Alabama are prepping their holiday celebrations. Get in the spirit of the season this spring with these Easter events happening in Auburn and Opelika!
Flashlight Egg Hunt, March 29
- What: Children grades third through fifth are invited to grab a flashlight and a basket and go on a hunt for glowing eggs! Special prizes and golden eggs will be featured. This event is free to attend!
- Where: Moore Stadium, 7th Avenue, Opelika
- When: 7:30 to 9 p.m.
37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, March 31
- What: Participate in one of the area’s largest annual Easter egg hunts featuring more than 35,000 eggs hidden over a four-acre area. “Hunting grounds” will be divided by age group: 3 and younger, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. The event will also offer musical entertainment, free sodas and balloons and an opportunity to meet and take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
- Where: Kiesel Park, 520 Chadwick Lane, Auburn
- When: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Easter on the Square, March 31
- What: Celebrate Easter in historic downtown Opelika with a parade, egg hunt, bonnet contest and more. This is a free event designed for children in second grade and younger.
- Where: Courthouse Square, 215 S. Ninth St., Opelika
- When: 10 to 11 a.m.
Easter Brunch at The Auburn University Hotel, April 1
- What: Indulge in The Hotel at Auburn University’s Easter brunch buffet in the hotel’s newly-renovated ballroom. The cost is $45 for adults, $19 for children 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger. View the menu here.

- When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Easter Lunch at The Marriott at Grand National, April 1
- What: Make Easter lunch an event at The Marriott at Grand National. Lunch will include chilled and hot selections, chef-attended stations and dessert. The cost is $36.95 for adults, $14.95 for children 6 to 12 and $5.95 for children 5 and younger.

- When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
