Auburn ice skating rink

This winter, Auburn residents and visitors will have the opportunity to lace up their skates and hit the ice. That’s right—an Auburn ice skating rink is temporarily opening in the Gay Street parking lot starting tomorrow, December 15!

According to Auburn Parks and Recreation, the Gay Street parking lot will temporarily close for the installation of the 1,200 to 1,800-square-foot ice rink at 5 a.m. on December 15. Then, the rink will open at 6 p.m. that evening pending installation time. The portion of the Gay Street lot housing the rink will be closed to cars during the two-week span that the Auburn ice skating rink is open, through December 31.

It will cost $5 per person to skate, which includes skate rental. Auburn Parks and Recreation asks patrons to pay with cash or check, with bills limited to $20 and under. Participants will be required to complete an Auburn Parks and Recreation waiver before skating.
