Happening This Weekend in Auburn: Music & Miracles Superfest and Waverly Boogie

music miracles superfest

Music will be hitting the Plains in many forms this weekend, and you’re invited to attend! Two concert events happening this weekend in Auburn are the country music themed Music & Miracles Superfest at Jordan-Hare Stadium and the folk and rock loving Waverly “Old 280” Boogie a few minutes down Highway 280 in Waverly.

In its second year, the Music & Miracles Superfest was the vision of the late Kevin Brown, co-founder of Auburn-based Chicken Salad Chick restaurants with his wife, Stacy. The benefit concert supports two causes—fighting cancer and feeding the hungry—through the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation. Last year’s concert, which was the first-ever stadium concert at Jordan-Hare Stadium, drew approximately 50,430 fans and supporters.

This year’s Music & Miracles Superfest will feature performances by David Ray, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton and a special appearance by southern rock legend Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tickets are on sale now starting at $49! Gates to the stadium open at 3 p.m., and music starts at 4 p.m.

On the other side of Highway 280, music lovers will come together for another type of show at the 17th Waverly “Old 280” Boogie on the grounds of Standard Deluxe print shop. This all-day festival will feature art, crafts and food vendors in addition to performances by Drivin’ N Cryin’, Southern Culture on the Skids, Adam Hood, Revel in Dimes, Pine Hill Haints and Blackberry Possum.

The Waverly Boogie started 17 years ago, when the state of Alabama rerouted U.S. 280 south of Waverly rather than through it. The first Boogie, in April 2001 served as a celebration of the traffic rerouting and the restoration of the Waverly community. The event has grown over the years to encompass hundreds of guests and dozens of vendors who come out for a day of fun spent lounging with chairs, blankets and coolers and listening to live music.

Tickets to the Waverly Boogie are $25 online (until April 19) and then $30 through the day of the event. Kids 14 and under get in free. Acts will grace the stage throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
