Ryan's Top 10 November Events in Auburn Opelika

As we pack up the fake spider webs and throw away our carved pumpkins, we welcome November with open arms as it (hopefully) brings cooler fall weather and opens the door to the holiday season.

With the time changing and the sun going down sooner, activities in the Auburn-Opelika area may move indoors, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t still plenty to do.

Here are Ryan’s Top 10 events happening in Auburn and Opelika this month!

  • Signature Chefs Auction, Nov. 3: This fifth annual event at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center will showcase the area’s finest culinary talent as it supports the March of Dimes. Guests will indulge in a 90-minute tasting experience before a live auction and Fund the Mission portion of the event. Event starts at 6:30 p.m.
  • Tribute Show: Elvis & Friends, Nov. 4: A tribute artist portraying Elvis, Patsy Cline and Willie Nelson will perform at the Clarion Hotel Ballroom from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The concert is suitable for all ages.
  • 14th Annual 5K Trail Run, Tot Trot and Sunday Stroll, Nov. 6: Support Auburn’s Kreher Preserve and Nature Center by getting out and running or walking the center’s trails. Registration will begin at 12 p.m., with the race starting at 1:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the KPNC.
  • Shop the Tracks Spirit of Thanksgiving, Nov. 7: The Bottling Plant Event Center in Opelika will host a family-friendly Spirit of Thanksgiving show and vendors. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be present for photos that will be mailed out in time for the holidays. Event is free to attend!
  • Taste of the Town Cook-Off, Nov. 10: Hosted by Saugahatchee Country Club, restaurants, professional chefs or at-home cooks can enter their favorite dishes to win prizes and bragging rights.
  • Fall Harvest Dinner Fundraiser Hosted by Hornsby Farms and Acre, Nov. 10: Enjoy an evening under the stars with excellent, award-winning cuisine. A fundraiser to support Nourish, AL, this dinner will be held in the fields of Hornsby Farm and will be prepared by Acre chefs David Bancroft and Caleb Fischer.
  • “Proof” Presented by Auburn Area Community Theatre, Nov. 10-13: Opening Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, “Proof” is the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning tale of Catherine, a gifted but troubled young woman caring for her genius but unstable mathematician father. Play includes adult situation and some adult language.
  • Legends of the Plains Fantasy Camp, Nov. 11-13: Baseball enthusiasts are invited to spend time with Auburn legends at the inaugural Legends of the Plains Fantasy Camp. Former Auburn baseball standouts like Tim Hudson, Gabe Gross, Scott Sullivan, Jay Waggoner and legendary coach Hal Baird will participate. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with players and coaches, receive on the field instruction from the legends and attend a viewing party for the Auburn-Georgia football game.
  • Thanksgiving, Nov. 24: Gather with your families, eat a great meal and give thanks! Just don’t forget to wear comfortable clothes for when you eat too much!
  • Iron Bowl, Nov. 26: Auburn takes on rivals Alabama in the teams’ annual matchup. Though the game is in Tuscaloosa, Auburn residents can cheer their team on from afar by attending watch parties like the one held annually in the Auburn Arena.
