For many, a fall trip to a local pumpkin patch, orchard or corn maze goes hand-in-hand with the leaves changing.
We’re fortunate in the Auburn-Opelika area to be able to transition from city to country simply by driving a few short minutes and miles down the road.

- Farmer in the Dell Pumpkin Patch: Located off Wire Road just six miles west of the Auburn University Veterinary School, Farmer in the Dell features places to pick pumpkins off the vine, a hay bale play area and hay ride, sunflower picking, farm animals and more. Open: 29-Oct. 29.
- Jack-O-Lantern Lane: Hop on an old fashioned wagon ride, pick your pumpkin or have a family picnic. Located at 18151 Veterans Memorial Parkway in LaFayette, Ala., Jack-O-Lantern Lane also offers inflatables, a petting zoo, gem mining and more. Open: 24-Oct. 31.
- Dream Field Farms: About an hour’s drive from Auburn in Fitzpatrick, Ala., Dream Field Farms includes a pumpkin patch, hayride, corn maze, fishing, farm games, human goat tower and of course, Father Tom’s famous racing pigs! Open: 1-Oct. 31.
- Backyard Orchards: The drive is worth it to visit Backyard Orchards, located north of Eufaula in Pittsview, Ala. Enjoy a pumpkin patch, corn maze, cotton and sunflower fields and more fall fun. Open: 24-Oct. 30.
